Plans for the future - Mark Martin
Let’s talk 2012 with Mark Martin. Where will he go? Turner? SHR? His own team with HMS backing?
I know the time will come, but as a fan of him since I was 2, I just am not ready to see him leave the sport as a driver yet. Sure, he’s never won a cup championship or a Daytona 500 (I hated Harvick in 2007 for that), but still, I’m just not ready for him to leave.
I assume these feelings were shared when the greats like Petty and Sr. left the sport in their own ways. One thought keep occurring to me though. Is Mark Martin done?
Thoughts on the matter?
Jr. Is Pissed
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has always been a driver that other men in the garage area have labeled as a guy to watch out for, when it comes to restrictor plate races. Last Saturday, Jr. led 1 lap (it wasn’t the last one), and came home with a 19th place finish, after an accident that collected both he and his drafting partner, teammate Jimmie Johnson, whom Jr. pushed to victory at Dega in the spring. After the race, Jr. finally lost the cool that he had kept for the past 2 years, and emphasized his ultimate hatred of the current way that restrictor plate races are raced: the two car tandem. Anyone who has been paying attention to NASCAR for the past 10 weeks knows that Jr.’s win is bound to come at some point during the 2011 season, but it will not come at Daytona, which I believe that all members of Jr. Nation wanted to see. What I know is that if Jr. doesn’t win soon, he might never win again.
The Nationwide Series mod for NR2003 that we have been working off and on with over the past year is finally finished.
Enjoy!
iRacing’s New Tire Model
iRacing talks about their new tire model in the iRacing Blog. It sounds very promising and hopefully they made enough changes that you’re not on the ragged edge of spinning out lap after lap this go around. They also show a nice preview of the new Nationwide Impala too! It sounds like they are hard at work and are always trying to improve an already top notch racing sim. Stay tuned, sounds like things are improving rapidly!
